वर्तमान चरण में 23,000 से अधिक इंटर्नशिप अवसर उपलब्ध कराए गए हैं। इस योजना के लिए 10वीं पास, 12वीं पास, ITI, डिप्लोमा, स्नातक (Graduate) तथा पात्र अंतिम वर्ष के विद्यार्थी आवेदन कर सकते हैं। आवेदक की आयु सामान्यतः 18 से 25 वर्ष के बीच होनी चाहिए तथा वह पूर्णकालिक नौकरी या नियमित पूर्णकालिक शिक्षा में नहीं होना चाहिए (आधिकारिक पात्रता के अनुसार)। चयनित अभ्यर्थियों को ₹9,000 प्रतिमाह स्टाइपेंड तथा ₹6,000 का एकमुश्त जॉइनिंग ग्रांट प्रदान किया जाता है।
इंटर्नशिप के दौरान उम्मीदवारों को विभिन्न क्षेत्रों जैसे बैंकिंग, आईटी, ऑटोमोबाइल, ऊर्जा, विनिर्माण, दूरसंचार, लॉजिस्टिक्स, एफएमसीजी, हेल्थकेयर, रिटेल एवं अन्य उद्योगों में कार्य करने का अवसर मिलेगा। उम्मीदवारों का चयन ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण, प्रोफाइल सत्यापन, कंपनी द्वारा शॉर्टलिस्टिंग तथा दस्तावेज सत्यापन के आधार पर किया जाएगा। आवेदन केवल आधिकारिक PM Internship Portal के माध्यम से ऑनलाइन स्वीकार किए जाते हैं।
